HELP caliper removal problem lowering springs

I knew it was too good to be true. Am installing new springs and shocks, and on the last wheel i've got a caliper bolt thats stuck dead. Is there any way to Replace spring and shock with caliper in place????

I don't think there is enough slack to the brake line to be able to swap out springs w/o taking off the caliper. Have you tried soaking the bolt with some PB Blaster? You could always remove the spindle from the lower A-arm.

Tragically, it seems that the only other thing to do is to remove the brake line from the back of the caliper. But, of course, I am at home with no other wheels, and don't have a clamp to keep the line from bleeding all over the place!

Righty tighty, lefty loosey. :rlaugh:

jk jk ;) The PB blaster is a good place to start, but if you have to removing the brake line isn't that big a deal, just bleed the brakes after (shouldn't even get THAT much air in there if you block the hole off right when you take it out).

honestly. use the socket wrench put it on, make sure its a tight fit, use a hammer and going from light to hard tap the end of the wrench to break the bolt loose. no its not a nice way to do it, but it was the only way I could get mine off the first time.

thanks everyone, for all the advice! I ended up putting it all back together, driving down to the local shop where they used their impact wrench (more torque than mine) drove home tore it all apart again, and finished!
