Newport, OR
Im putting out a request for any Fords to come to the Coast, Newport for the Loyalty Days parade. Its the first weekend in May and is a good turn out.

If you have never been to one its a small military appreciation/ local business party. If your active duty any branch, you can show up all weekend and drink for FREE at the Rouge and Port Dock one, in uniform.

But the real request is I need some cars. The local Ford dealership finally put together a ford get together on the lot last year and it was a good turn out. Then you can cruise the parade and show off you bling if thats your thing. But the biggest thing is, the chevy boys have been running wild with the car count for years. TONS of camodes and vettes, and they think they own the place. The probably roll in 75+ bowties.

We had a descent turn out last year, about 20-30 fords, but I need some help. The dealership is Power Ford right of 101, and they clear the lot, put up tents, cook a ton of grub, and hand out most of the day.

Come represent and put the bowtie boys to shame!

Well there is a local (Porland, Vancouver and surrounding) Mustang meet getting together the sixth, so I am not sure how many people you are going to get to go to that... Sunday might work for many, but I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you have not already looked at that...

Last year Mustang Wranglers took over 55 cars to the Power Ford Show and we had a blast in the parade. I was informed that Power Ford is not going to put on a show this year. Something about not making any money. Gee, put on a free car show, bring over 75 cars to the dealership, raise over $3000 for meals on wheels, give away trophys and raffle prizes and give Mustangs and Fords a representation in the parade. Power Ford needs to rethink something.:bang: Oh well, just might have to go to the Stangnet get together. Had a blast last year. Good burgers and dogs. The cruise afterwards was a kick in the pants. Pics of last years Stangnet event are still on our website, www.mustang-club.com. See a video of Wally doing his burnout. See you there. Cobra Dave - President - Mustang Wranglers of Oregon

I did not know that, I will have to go down there today and rattle their cage. They would be DUMB not to put that on again. If not we can all meet at my house, do burnouts and do slow rolls throught the Chevy lot tempting the elderly corvette drivers.

Last year the car wasnt done and I was WAY too hund over to be operating any machinery, but this year will be a different story, more hung over and my car is done!!

Best bring the Cobra Jon!!!

Cobra Dave,
Just to confirm what you said, its true. I just got off the phone with ford's manager and they said the owner does not want to do it this year. What a looser.
Anyways a few options. I will PM you the number for the owner if you dont already have it and see if you can get a better anwser or maybe convience him to put it on or,

Option two, if nobody has a bad taste in there mouth after being denied out true stable at the Ford lot, my good friend is the owner of NAPA right in town next to Dodge off of 101 and 20, and he said they would consider clearing their lot for us to get together and do our thing. It all depends on what the car clubs EXPECT. If you guys want to run a show and all of that its up to you. NAPA will not be responsible for anything else other than providing the lot and hopefully a thankyou in return, thats all. But if you dont want a show, and just want a place to gather (like me) than we could have a spot. A lot large enough for about 75-80 cars.

I am ALL about hanging out, and if others want we could join the parade a cruise, but if not at least we would have aplace to claim. Let me know what you think. I need some postive direction by Monday to set this up.

I will PM you all of my info, Thnx and hope we can all get together again. Mike

Mike - sorry I havent responded sooner, what with work, life and club business lately. I know how excited you would be to have a bunch of Stangs come to hang out with but here is another option. The Stangnet guys are going to have a get together also on May 6. (See the tread at the top). If hanging out with Mustang owners is what you are looking for , you might want to consider coming up here. Last year they had good grub, great burnouts in the parking lot and a cruise afterwards. I think this year, they are also going to go to PIR for the drags after the cruise. Plus you get a chance to meet alot of the guys who post here. Maybe next year, we can get started early enough and mount a good showing against the Corvettes in the parade. Cobra Dave.
