Well the swap is complete and I love it. The car idles very nice. A bit lopey at times and sometimes just a bit rough. I am letting the computer learn itself before I start investigating anything. The swap should take about 1 full day or maybe a full weekend if you take your time but it was very easy considering.

One thing I want to pass on is the most manuals call for a camshaft alignment tool but that is not necessary. I used a set of vice grips pliers on the exhaust camshaft clamped so that the pliers are being pushed into the intake camshaft in the middle. Since the cams want to turn a bit when you release the tensioners I used the pliers and a piece of flat steel with holes drilled in to match the camshaft gear bolts. (note pic with plate) then I just snugged them down and it helped alot with the holding the cams while you release the camshaft main plates slowly. Here are some of the pics, I am sorry because I forgot my digi-camera the day I started this job and I was not about to drive 40 mins. to get the camera when I can be working. So I had to use my phone.

Here are some pics I took while I waited 3 weeks for cams. These are with my digital camera.

I can give a more detailed write up for anyone who is interested. The cams are Crower's stage 2's- adv. duration 238/246, duration at .050 194/200, .472/.473 gross lift.

As for the power I am not sure. I can definately feel a difference in torque on the bottom end and midrange. I am supposed to do a field test against my old trans am that my roomate has. So that will definately let me know what changed since we were about even before. I did this mod because I wanted to do something a bit different compared to other late model stangs. Not to mention that any supercharger for these cobras seem to run above 3-4 thousand and cams were a bit over 1. So to me cheaper is better to me. For only being on it a few days with minimal driving, I totally recommend this to anyone. I will be working on a write up today and will post it later. This was surprisingly easy to do.
