cam/performance ?

any one ever use a set of ported and polished 289 heads on a 302 with a stock cam?i am wondering what kind of a differnce i sould expect hp wise.
right now i have a stock 88 302 ho short block,dooe 351 heads(unported),
weind torker intake 600cfm carb,flowtech long tubes and no cats.with this current set up i have run a 14.2 @ 102 and i know have aset of 289 heads that are fully ported with 1.94-1.60 valves and 53 cc chambers,and would any one recomend a cam to use.

You should see a decent increase in power from the compresson alone.Comp Cams 281HR is a decent cam for your set up,Lunati 51017LUN would also work good.

Your compression will defiantly go up, but check your piston to valve clearance.
