Cam Question for stock Motor.

Thanks man, that was actually on 255/50/16 BFG DR's at 15 psi. I have a stock tq converter, so I leave the hole at 1200 rpms wide-open and bog like you wouldn't believe. Im going back to the track, on street tires in a few days....its colder and the car is running better now, but I spin on street tires, so I'll probably be coming back with a 13.7 at 110-111

And would you believe this is a 100,000 mile cast bottom-end? Yup I said cast, not oe forged....its like uttering a curse-word lol

Huh! Yeah there was something wrong there. A good converter will give you 7 tenths!

I dont know much about cams but I will say this. My car came with a B cam and I like it. My 91 notchback had a pretty stock engine and that car would not pull after the middle of 3rd, this car pulls hard all the way through 4th. I ran my friends SRT-4 from a 40 roll and thought he would kill me but I stayed even with him from 2nd to 3rd, once I hit 4th I started to pull and put about a 1 1/2 cars on him around 110mph. I was surprised to say the least and contributed that 4th gear pull to the B cams top end power. Tell me if im wrong but I dont think a stock 5.0 is gonna pull that hard in 4th. he SRT-4 has a Mopar stage 1 and a bunch of bolt ons.

It sucks to lose bottom end grunt but if you're racing then you won't be spending much time below 4k anyways if we're talking about drag racing. That's the problem with my car right now, i can rip just about anyone out of the hole but at 100mph it falls on it's face.

Again, a Cobra or GT40 intake will do the same! Help with upper RPM power. Throw in some 1.7RR's and it will add to the top end even more without losing any low end grunt!
