if you have a big cam on a built engine is it normal to start your car after not having started it for a while an have it not want to idle but then once it warms up idle perfectly fine? thanks

a lot of people have idling issues when it comes to cams. have you had your car tuned? if not, you should do that and then try again

it only does it for a few minnutes when its warming up then it just stops. yes the car has been tuned but maybe it could use another tune.

well i have a bigger cam than stock in i guess you would stay a stock engine and it really doesnt like to idle right. but i am having cold start problems and my car's idle goes from 500 up to about 1800 rpms then back down til she warms up. cant drive her like that cause she will backfire in the intake and buck like no other.

Mine does this exact same thing...seems like I have to keep my foot on it until it warms up then all is fine. I usually let it warm for about 15 seconds and then take it out driving...it warms up faster that way. But yeah...when its cold, it can be a real bear to idle and such.
