I actually have two questions, I am putting the engine back together with the parts in my sig. I was wondering how the engine would run with the stock cam also what would be a good cam to get for a budget price. I am broke aftering buying the heads and intake. If it is worth it I will save up some money to get a better cam but if the engine will run decent (300-350 at crank) I will change the cam down the road when I have some extra money. Thanks for the info.

Ported TFS TW's ... better than stock long runner intake.... auto transmission with a tight converter....... yep, I would use the stock cam (with 1.7 RR's or split 1.6/1.7's for a long term). Is it worth installing a custom cam and valve train to optimize that setup....... absolutely.

I'm with Joel, you can def run the stock cam with that set up with the above mentioned r.r.'s that way you can save up for a good quality custom cam vs a lack luster budget cam. still, you would be suprised at the numbers you can get from the stocker but you will get the full beans out of your set up with a better cam.
