Anything in the 500hp range is big money and broken parts. I generally try and talk people out of building engines with that much power now.

And I seriously don't want to discourage anyone from reaching their potential, I just think you need to understand what's involved.

my target hp I'm hoping to reach is 400-425 at the crank, i want durability and reliability in this build and yes 500hp would be cool but not for this car, I'm still keeping an eye out for a clean 91-93 notch for a "balls to the wall" to quote jaime pressly in joe dirt build

Yeah ill pass on the B cam thats what the local ford speed shop back home in the 90s used to recommend to me, I'm not using any ford letter cams
Are you serious? All hail the B cam
Would a Comp XE270 be too small to reach my 400hp goal
Regardless of cam, I think to reach your 400hp goal you are going to need to bump the compression up which is going to make it not so forced induction friendly.

Have you ever considered forgoing the stroker idea and just going with the blower? The 93 Cobra has already got the GT-40 heads and Cobra intake up top. Add a little more cam and about 8-10 pounds of boost to the mix and you'll probably hit your goal.
.....and a lot cheaper with a lot less hassle on top of it all. Not to mention stone reliable With stock fuel economy and emissions levels. Win-win.
