Hey ya'all! New here I'm 21, engaged to a great guy, have a zoo in my house, and I'm a mustang fanatic A little bit about my baby: I've got an 07 mustang GT, bought it brand new in Oct. '06, and I'm finally getting around to modding it Its lowered 1.5", and has racing shocks. I just recently ordered a BBK twin 62mm throttlebody, Steeda t-body spacer, BBK off-road x-pipe, Steeda cold air intake system, SCT X3 tuner, Performance 4.56 gears, master bearing kit, and a set of 5x4.5 40 mm wheel spacers (not sure if those spacers are going to work, but I can't find any 5x4.25's so I'm gonna give it a shot ).

The last thing on my list for now is a new cam shaft. Unfortunately all those numbers are Greek to me

Here is the link to the page I'm looking at, anybody know which one would be the right cam for my car?

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...07+4294967094&langId=-1&storeId=10001&Ntk=all

Thanks in advance!

You'll probably want to refer to the tech section for 05+ mustangs here: http://forums.stangnet.com/forumdisplay.php?f=84

I say tech section so you get some good opinions on how the cam reacts to your set-up. But even so, 4.56 gears sounds insane - and 1.5 inch spacers sounds large as well.

As for specs. duration equates to how long a valve is kept open while air is coming in or exhaust is coming out. The lift (such as .50 or .498) entails how far the valve is opened into the cylinder. The longer the lift with a short duration means you are having to push the valve open further in the same period of time (measure in degrees of rotation) which often requires aftermarket valve srpings to accomplish this. The next feature is LSA or "lobe separation". This explains the distance (in degrees of rotation of the cam) between the two different cam lobes - the intake and exhaust. The tighter this is you usually get a "lopey" sound at idle, although this is also caused by duration. A tighter LSA also modifies the valve overlap "time in which both valves are open during the same period" which is very sensitive to adjustment.
Anyone seeing holes in this explanation fill em in, it's been awhile since i cared

I reposted the thread in the other forum. I guess We'll consider this one closed -- Sorry about the confusion
