I have a 94 Cobra that has just some minor mods. 70mm Throttle body, BBK shorty headers, OR x-pipe, and and AEM computer. I have a pair of old TFS heads that I was considering putting on it.

Anybody got any ideas on a Cam for it?

Should those stock 24lb/hr injectors be ok or do you think I'll need more injector?

What kind of TFS heads are they, and how much do you want to spend on the cam?

They are a set of the original Twisted Wedge heads. I think they flow like 250 at .550 lift on the intake side.

I'm not too worried about the price of the cam since it's the only thing aside from gaskets I'm gonna be buying.

I guess if you don't care how much money you are going to spend I would call one of the custom cam guys and get a custom cam ground.

I knew that was the response I was gonna get. I was really more interested in just a simple off the shelf cam. If I was gonna do a custom grind I'd do one for the 347 in my fox. I might look into it anyways though. Thanks

I was trying to give you the right answer I guess. I recommend a Trick Flow 2 cam if you get an off the box cam.

Oh yeah it's probably the best cam I can get but it's just my DD and seems like a kinda of a waste of a custom cam. Obviously those heads are capable of supporting way more cam and HP than the rest of the combo is so to me it seems like a waste. A good off the shelf cam seems like a better fit. I appreciate the help and the advice!

Understandable. I have never had a custom camshaft myself.

Well if its your daily driver, you probably want a good idle and good power from idle - 3,000. A custom cam to me, is great for daily drivers because you dont have to sacrifice as much to get what you want. Obviously you want to make the best out of your combo and you dont want a headache everyday...sounds like a custom cam job to me. Because it seems that off the shelf cams make you choose, kinda like that new Mac vs. PC commericial. PC's make u choose your features vs. mac being good at everything lol.

Ok, back on topic though. I think the stock 24lb injectors should be fine. All i have ever had were custom cams...1 from Jay Allen and 2 from Ed Curtis. Before going with a TFS stage 2, be sure u talk to guys who run that in a 302 since it will be your daily driver. The TFS package uses the TFS stage 1. So thats obviously an option. The only other thing i'd say is to look at AFM's cams....i've seen great power made with those. But they are expensive....and at that point, you may as well get a custom cam and get exactly what you want.

Since its your daily driver, off the shelf wise i'd probably say a TFS stage 1. But post what you want to "deal with" and what u want out of it, and maybe guys can help a little bit more.

FWIW, i've read a cobra with a ported lower goes well with twisted wedges on a 302.

No I was just gonna leave the intake alone. It's not ideal but it will do.

I'm not worried about Idle characteristics at all or the drivablilty factor either. I ran my 347 with an AFM N111 cam on the street for years. Anything I put in this motor will be way better than that!

In all honesty I'll probably end up using another AFM cam because I've had really good luck with my N111's (I think I'm on my 3rd in this motor. OOPS. LOL) I just was wondering if anyone had anything else that might be a good option too. I'll have to check into the TFS cams though. They seem to be pretty common.
