My brother has ported gt40x heads, explorer intake and an e cam, 30lb injectors. Dynoed just short of 300rwhp. But the heads are ported. So I would guess 280ish without porting.

I that 205 horse I mentioned earlier was with e7's and a cam similar to the e303 he plans on using with his e7's for time being. As for 280hp w the GT40 combo I'd say that is a little optimistic. Obtainable but optimistic. @BrandonG08 Browse through here. It has a little bit of everything and a lot of the same. It'll give you a pretty good idea about how much power different setups are making. http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/guess-my-h-p-the-dyno-1-4-mile-time-thread.677534/

I made 265 with gt40p's with a stock cam... Pretty sure 275-280 is not optimistic.

You made my point for me. He wants to have a similar setup as you w the addition the e303 cam. That cam isn't going to make up the 20 hp difference.

A lot of trick flow 170 top end guys are making 280ish and that's a better head than the gt40x. Scroll through here http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/guess-my-h-p-the-dyno-1-4-mile-time-thread.677534/
Edit not to long ago a guy on here had tfs 170's, can't remeber what cam and a cobra intake. He made 270

270?? That's only 5 more than my stock cam gt40p explorer intake made.. Not that impressive for all the extra money in my opinion. If I am spending 500$ more for an aluminum head, I want more than 5 hp. What torque was it making? I think mine was around 290.

Fwiw. You have to remember the results posted can be different with each person. For example was it tuned, maximized(timing, etc),what dyno was it on,what altitude was it tested at,etc etc?? I've looked at hundreds of TFS head h/c/i dyno results and I'd say 90% fall right around 300rwhp. On avg about 30-50 more than the gt40 head builds(I've seen hundreds of those too).

I totally agree, that's what I am saying, the "good aluminum headed cars are around 300rwhp.. The gt40x heads Prob a little lower. But my brother has an untuned ported gt40x headed car that was right at 300rwhp with an e cam. My gt40p car was tuned, but not sure the tune made a whole lot of a difference. I am doing a gt40/tfs1/ explorer intake right now on my current car. Hoping to be around the 260 mark again.

Dyno numbers are tough to compare. I made 272 rwhp years ago. My combo didn't change other than my midpipe (went from a pro chamber to an X) and mufflers (went from Mac with tails to dumped spintechs) and I made 256 rwhp. My car ran faster with the less power (not much faster, but slightly). Same dyno, different years, but probably similar weather.

Dyno racing is useless.>every dyno is different and it depends on how tthe tuner sets things up among other variables. I've seen cars with 350rwhp get smoked by cars with much less hp. The best dyno is the strip. Should I be mad because I only made 292rwhp and didn't hit the magic 300 number?

I don't think the aluminum gt40's flow significanty more than the iorns. The aluminums just weigh less.

Really? I don't see a regular gt40 in here but there is a p head and an x head. Numbers are close up until .400 lift, then the p head drops off.

There wouldn't be a huge performance difference between the p and x. Almost identical through most of the lower valve lift numbers. With a cam like an e303 there would be maybe a 5% difference.

Stock block? If so you have to remember that around 500rwhp they tend to break. Cam selection is different for each also. The stock fuel rails and lines are maxed out around that level also. Stock trans will not hold up either. The brakes on these cars are inadequate for these cars. Adding power will necessitate an upgrade there also. To even remotely keep the car under control you'll also need suspension mods and some good tires.
