Hey guys, I'm looking to get some cams for my car. I want to gain as much hp as possible without killing streetability. What stage cam and what brand should I shop for? What other parts are required to keep my car reliable/race-ready?

fix.t and QFMFT!

Don't go with the comp cam beehive springs, they don't support enough lift for the VT Stage 2's.. Manley's do, $40 extra isn't that much anyways.

I'll be doing those cams soon, they're sitting in my floor waiting for install. I've got 3.73's in the car right now, so i'll be able to let you guys know how much more gear I need.

Did you choose the VT cams over the Comp's because of PTV contact? Are PTV issues with directly related to Comp cams?

I chose VT over comp because of the PTV issues.. and the fact that VT is better than comp for the modulars, but that's my opinion.. not trying to state a fact

Altho that wasn't directed at me lol

Having had both VT Stage 2 N/A cams and Crower Stage 2 Blower cams both on my N/A car I would choose the Crowers anyday. The power was greater with the Crowers even N/A and the streetability was better. Just my .02.

10* more intake duration...thats why. Thats ALOT. They are simple a more aggressive cam so they should make more power.

So how much power did you gain with the Crowers? Do you mind telling me where you got them?

For that reason, moreso its just a preference from what ive read since i DONT have an aftermarket cam. however if i did, it would be VT, unless tweeked convinces me otherwise

I will say it again, PTV only happens when Cams are installed improperly regardless of who makes the cam. I have posted it before that people have had PTV issues with improperly installed VT Cams, so it is not just a Comp issue.

The Crower Stg II Blower cam is a spitting image of the Comp 270 for duration, but the Crowers have way more lift. They are making awesome power for the guys I know running them N/A.
