Hey guys been a long time since I have been in here!! Well I have a 1993 notchback with h/c/i and the whole works and it is all dialed in and everything but I was just curious those of you who are familiar with custom chips and tuning...my tuner was able to adjust the idle of my engine so that the car does not sound cammed it idles very smoothly...well a guy at work doesnt wanna believe that I have the mods I say I do because the car doesnt lope at idle...what do I tell him?? I know there is a good technical explanation for how the car was tuned to avoid lope...

Hmm never heard of doing that before. I guess the best way would to show him a dyno sheet or something, or just actually pop your hood and show that its no stock intake and heads etc.

lol well the whole thing is the intent with the car was to keep it appearing and sounding as stock as possible so even the heads and intake look stock...the stock intake plaque was cut to fit my cobra intake and the stock valve covers were used and everything...the only way I know it isn't stock myself is the dyno sheet I have on it that I did myself and the fact that the car pulls like a raped ape!!!

what is your combo and your hp numbers?? Torque?? If they are in the upper 200's, lower 300's, and he know anything about these cars, than he'll know that it's not stock lol or just race him lol

when i first turned on my car after the h/c/i i let it idle high and it did not lope.

After the tune it loped nice when idling at 700. your tuner just set the idle a little high probably. Take that nimrod for a ride.
