Hi I have a sn95 cobra i just got as my first car and am very interested in building it to a 347 down the road. I have experience in building engines just not anything serious mostly stock or small. Was wondering if someone could explain to me how to tell if a cam would work/fit in an engine such as a 347 or 302 and how heads would effect it. Much knowledge on both just very confused on how to get the right ones, plz explain would be much appreciated

If I had a Cobra and the motor was tight I'd just slap a Vortech on it and you'll have 347 power numbers.

If you're dead set on building a 347 and retaining the stock ECC just keep in mind an off the shelf cam isn't the best route. The 94-95 benefit greatly at idle with a 113+ lobe and split duration cam. I'd suggest having a custom cam grind to your engine specs from Ed Curtis / FTI and even large builders such as Comp Cams (as an example).

I put a 347 stroker in my 94 GT years back which had AFR 185 Heads and custom grind cam from Comp with a 114 lobe, .542 / .562 lift. on 1.6 roller rockers. Put a Holley Systemax intake, 70MM TB, 80MM MAF (Pro-M), 30LB Injectors, MAC 1-3/4" Ceramic Long Tubes with 3" Collector and full 3" MAC Prochamber and Cat Back all the way out. The car made insane power and was a torque monster.

This is the 347 Stroker after breaking it in.
