Do you have a dyno graph? I want to see if there is any sacrifice in low end torque. Or if the cam has a very peak power band and you mostly only see gains from say... 4k and above. If a pair of cams can give a good over all gain with out hurting low end power and still actually pass the nazi ass california emissions test, then I'm all ears. So far, as it appears, the cam you have gives 20rwhp over my stock cams, which isn't bad at all, although I don't want to sacrifice torque in the process.

I have heard everything from 8-12 hours on the cam change. Now if you are ONLY swapping the cams and not the springs, you could really cut some time off the install but AFAIK, all cams stouter than the VT Stage I cams require springs. Also, I came across this tool in a post at Modular Depot. It is supposed to save 3-4 hours of work by letting you do the swap without touching all your accessories and cam chain covers.

I ordered one and got an email today saying that they are still in production and won't ship for 7-10 days. I figure though that the job is going to be frustrating enough as it is and $30 bucks to save 3-4 hours of extra frustration is worth it.
 
I would personally do the shm2760's, comp 270's, or vt stage II's. I am leaning towards the vt. they all sound sick and make good power. as for the install do youself a favor and do it yourself because that would get spendy. cams are $500-570. spings are $189 or so. labor would proably be like $700. really depends on the shop. so doing it yourself would save lots of $$$$'s.
 
Man i have the comp cams stage II 102600s hot street/strip...And that tool i will order in the morning....They sound great on the stangs i have heard.. I will install them on the 8-9th... I will let yall know how it goes
 
The three cam companies I would recommend are:

VT
Comp
Houston Performance (HP)

I have the HP billet blower cams, and gained 51rwhp. They sound wicked lopey at idle and are very streetable. I'd expect their NA cams to be similarly cool. can't go wrong with the other two either.

Make sure you get new springs too...then you can raise your rev limiter safely! :nice:

Ok can any one tell me if cams are smog legal I live in MD? Or should I even get cams and just get a Pro-Charger. I would like to have both but 1k and 20rwhp does not add up tp me.

That is so SWEET!!!. That has to knock a whole bunch of time off of a cam install. Between that and the spring compressor tool (that you posted in a different thread) a cam/spring upgrade is starting to sound easier and easier. Thanks for posting that nickthegenius! :nice:

Hey, no problem. Anything to make a job easier! I just wish there was a $30 tool to cut 3-4 hours off of a header install :D
