camshaft endplay...none existent

installed my cam and checked the endplay... i have 0.00000" of endplay. nice...
im not sure how to correct this, since i ve never run into it before.
believe it has something to do with the thrust plate... help please....

What method did you use to measure endplay? I would try another thrust plate to see if I couldn't remedy the problem that way. The endplay should measure anywhere from .001-.007 in.

I installed the cam and timing gear, torqued sprocket bolt to spec then i set a dial indicator with a magnetic base on the front and gave it some preload and zeroed it out... i push the cam back nothing, pry it forward nothing. I have the stock one(thrust plate) but it seems the same thickness.
This is on a Dart block with a custom comp cam
