camshaft install...

okay, I got the cam in, and everything is good. Should I advance, retard, or run the cam straight up? I need some info. on what happens when you change the cam timing. I have three options with the crank sprocket I am using. They are 5 deg. adv., ret., or straight...I have a stock bottom end with b cam, forged speedpro 9.5:1 pistons with reliefs, and am planning on going with a set of RHS aluminum heads with 58 or 60cc chambers.

Go to Comp's website and browse around their tech area. It is set up kind of like a forum and there is a TON of good cam info on there, including the effects of advancing and retarding the cam timing. I would recommend you check that out.
