Well, THEORETICALLY you could. But it's not that easy to have the distributor hole bored out to accept the distributor. I suppose he could try if he wanted to.

OR..... you could simply run it off of the front of the motor. You would need some custom brackets made up, and some modifications to the distributor, you could run it either directly or with some form of drive system off of the the front of the cam shaft. I've seen it done of 4 different 4.6L mustangs.

Well, that's true, I forgot about that. But I don't know if this guy would want to go to that much trouble (I wouldn't, lot easier to just find an older block)

I think there was just a plug in the distrbuter hole. Check your block and see if there is a plug or no hole even cast into the block for the distributer.

Mine had a dizzy hole...just a rubber plug in the hole.

So, yes...you should be able to.

Mine has a Pluged hole also. So It may depend on the model year of the block.

Yes,if you would look you would see that you either have ,a alum. plug that continues to run the oil pump or a CPS(California specs but still run the pump)The blocks were the same machining until 95 when they went to a oil pump that run off of the timing belt.I never seen one that didn't have the dist.hole machined in...

Ah well, spose I shouldn't guess, I've barely even looked at the DIS engines. I just figured the boss was there but the hole wasn't
