Hello Just wondering if anyone has dyno'd 99-04 mustang before and after predator install what the results where? Seat of the pants opinions would also be greatly appreciated.

I just installed a predator tune on my car and definately felt it pull harder. The only thing I changed on the predator tuning is I max'd the timing from 2-7k rpm since I'm running 94 octane. I do hope to get a baseline dyno tune soon so I can get a # before doing other mods.

Ive been wondering about this for a while: What is the timing set at in the base predator tune for an 03 GT? It says it is set up for 93 or better octane gas, but I live in CA and all we get is 91 octane. What should I set timing to with my Predator to run properly on 91 octane? What percentage should I back off the timing at each of the rpm ranges that are available for editing?

Thanks

With Magnpack Catback, X-pipe, K@N CAI, and basic Predator tune, I baseline dynoed at 257/275 on a Mustang Dyno. The timing in the basic Predator tune was too much for my Mach, so they actually dialed out timing. After 6 dyno runs, it maxed out at 270/287. a 12 HP and 13 TQ gain. I switched out the K@N CAI for a C@L system due to the K@N constantly causing stalling. Went back and did another dyno with AFR and got it dialed in at 13.1 AFR and picked up 3HP and 3TQ with the C@L. No great numbers with the C@L but no stalling and my idle is smooth and not choppy, and response is nice. The Predator may be outdated with this new Excal 2 that is out that you can download tunes from your computer for each mod you make.

I live in Cali too so I am stuck with the 91oct gas as well. The article Propellerhead posted was done in Hayward California. They maxed the timing on 91oct gas. I tried maxing mine but I do get pinging here and there so I backed it off a bit. It's happens only at WOT but it doesn't seem consitant. It is also very quiet so I am not even sure if it's pinging. I tied the NOS octance booster and it seems to pull harder but sometimes I hear it still. I wonder if my MAF is dirty.

wow! is this preditor tune better then an actuall diablo chip dyno tune? i dont think i picked up too much from being dyno tuned. if i did i dont think it was anywhere near 12 rwhp. maybe 5rwhp for me on the dyno tune.

Well I picked up .9 second in the 1/4 mile and 7MPH. That was the only change made during a test and tune night. So with those numbers you can calculate about 18HP. I had to remove the tune during the winter months due to snowy streets. Lot od torgue gain....:nice:

you'll be fine as long as you use 91 when i installed mine i got no pinging or nothing like that but i would recommend a dyno tune
