Hey everybody, was wondering if anyone here knows where i can get the brake clip that sits in the middle of the front brake caliper....my pad keeps moving around and making an annoying noise. I called Ford and they said the only way to get it is to buy their brakes for $95....I didn't really wanna buy them for $95 when i can get other brakes for $40....so if you know where i can get one or if you have one let me know i'd be willing to buy it.

thanks

Parts stores usually have a couple different hardware kits for brakes, it might be worth checking into if any have those in them. The kits are usually inexpensive enough.

I've always just called them brake hardware kits. For drums they have different springs, etc. in them. For disc brakes they have slide pins, anti-rattle clips, etc. Someone at the parts store will hopefully be able to locate them and you can see if what you need is in there. Sometimes the parts are sold individually, and some you can only get in their kits -- worth looking into though.

This might be what you need:
http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDet...=LEE&MfrPartNumber=5466A&PartType=354&PTSet=A

(USA Brake 5466A $10.99)

or this:
http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDet...=LEE&MfrPartNumber=5641A&PartType=354&PTSet=A

(USA Brake 5641A $19.45)

The first one is just the anti-rattle clip, second is just hardware (doesn't list what's in it). But they do call them all brake hardware kits. I'm sure you can find them at any good auto parts place.
