Can anyone tell me what this wire is for?

It is a solid brown wire that is grounded next to the battery.

Thanks. The car runs, and I noticed it while playing w/ my dccontrol box. It used to have a homemade fan relay setup on it. I wonder if it was leftovers? I just have never noticed before and I figured I would have. Especially in that area.
