I put my 347 in with the alternator bracket on and the water pump. I had the heads and lower intake on too. I had the transmission installed too. I dropped it all in as one. You'll need a few guys to help.

I pulled all mine out together by my self last summer.

I had to jack the front up to let the trans swing down enough. Took my time, the worst was getting the tail of the trans to go over the rad. support/front end. I ended up grabbing it and lifting it since the ball. of the weight was on the engine and swung it out of the way, then lowering it on the mount I setup to hold every thing until I got appart.

I would thing the reverse would work just as well. Just take your time and if you feel un-comfortable or un-safe call someone for help.

I rebuilt the whole thing in the past 4 days and I have to have it in the car and running in 2 days before I leave for USF. Should be interesting.... Leakdown tests really arent that hard if you have an air compressor, you should do it yourself. I have the tool you need if youd like to borrow it.

First off...GL in college

Second...Yeah, I thought about doing it myself, but I talked with a few non-partisan guys, and they agree that it's helpful for someone trained to do it (in case of leaks, identifying the source. etc)
Thanks
