Hey guys, I plan on running the tfs stage 1 cam on gt40p heads. Should I just get the usual trick flow springs? I've heard some bad things about them on a thread on corral. But never actually seen anyone have an issue.

And also do I need to take them to a shop to be installed and have them check the install height etc. or can I install them?

Also anyone know if that kit comes with stem seals? If not where can I get them, and can I install those?

I run the TFS springs on my 93 with p heads and TFS stage 1 cam. I have had no problems and they are pretty easy to install. The big thing is to check the installed height and use the included shims to get to the correct 1.8" installed spring height and that there are separate spring retainers for the intake and exhaust valves to compensate for the factory rotators on the exhaust valves.

The kit comes with seals, springs, retainers, locks, shims and spring height checking tool. I did mine myself. Just have a good spring compressor to make your life easier.

Oh it even comes with the height checking tool. Nice, I just checked the heads for surface flatness with a feeler gauge and straight edge and couldn't even get .005 under there, so I may just throw the springs on and call it a day.
