Can I just plug off the canister purge stuff?

Like the title says, it's been giving me fits and I don't want to mess with it anymore. Unless I have to, of course. I did a search, but couldn't find a specific answer to my question.

Yes, you can. Do NOT plug the hose though, keep it open to vent the gas tank. Just kinda keep it out of the way though. I removed mine because it got annoying.

Will it cause a stink by letting it just vent out?

I didn't notice any more stink. I vented mine downward toward the ground where the stock cannister was.
