Can I really trust a Zex N2O management unit

Zex is claiming to be the safest Nitrous when using there Nitrous Management Unit. Controls fuel and Nitrous feeds individually so you don't run lean. They also use the TPS as the WOT sensor. Is this safe???? What if your TPS goes wiggy? It does happen. I'd hate to be cruzin' at 35mph down Main St. and have this thing open my nitrous solenoid.

Any Zex users out there?

You can make nitrous as safe as POSSIBLE, but there is always that slight chance that something can go wrong. Many people have used Zex safely and effectively. As long as you have a WOT switch, window switch, fuel pressure safety switch,focus fuel pump or equivilant, and fuel pressure gauge, you should be fine. Also be sure to GET THE CAR TUNED on a dyno. That is the MOST important thing. The air fuel ratio MUST be checked so you know for a fact your car isn't running lean on the juice. Do all those things, and you will have one safe setup

Have you run the Zex management unit? It sounds like it could be better control than the others. I do intend to run a wide band O2 gage for safety.

Well hope you have your main power switch to the Management unit turned off. I have had mine for a while no prob's. Be through 2 or 3 bottles

I havn't used ZEX, but they are a great company. Just get all the safety devices I meantiond plus a tune, and you will be set

I wish I saved the picture, but someone took apart their zex 'management unit' and it was just some cheap looking Parker solenoid setup stuffed in a shiny box.


Just have good WOT/window/fpss switches and trustable solenoids and the rest is in the tune.

Ive been running my zex kit for about 8 months now. Gone thru around 6-7 bottles and i havent had any issues with the exception of empty bottles.

Even with all the safety switches, you're still screwed if your N20 solenoid fails to close or your fuel solenoid fails to open. Both are single point failure items. I wish there was a dual-redundant design to it. If a solenoid fails then a second one will kick in. Kinda like having two individual brake lines. If one fails, you still have another.
