can i run cam 2

i was wondering if i could mix 2 or 3 gallons of cam 2 in with 93 octane?would it hurt anything? and if i can would it help me gain any thing in the 1/4 mile? i do have my timming advanced to 14 if it matters the motor has 123,225 miles on it but i take really good care of it if i go to the track i change it soon as i get home i only run royal purple

Unless you're running high compression and more timing, it won't do you any good. Run 93 or 94 octane and you'll probably be better off. If you went and got a 2 stage chip and had a second tune done for race gas you might see some benefit, but without the added compression it won't be a whole lot.

I tried it once.....stock compression, advanced the timing to 16* and didn't see any gains at all.

If you still have cats it will kill them and over time it will kill your o2's. I run cam 2 and other kinds of race gas its all in the mix. If you put 2 to 3 gallons of cam 2 to a tank full of 93 then you wasted your money. My car runs best with about 3 gallons of cam 2 to 5 gallons of 93 but all cars are not the same. You'll have to play with it to see what works best for you.

IIRC Cam 2 is leaded, which is not good for modern engines, so I wouldn't suggest running that. There is no reason you can't run unleaded race gas though. We had a bike come in on trade at work with a couple gallons of VP 110 in it that they let me take for free. I threw it in my car just for the hell of it, it was free gas, and it's the greatest smell in the world. There's no performance gain whatsoever unless you have big compression and need the race gas. Like 85SS said you could have it tuned for race gas and that might get you a few ponies, but it's not worth it for how much that fuel costs. The only downside to running it is you might find yourself in a daze at stop lights and such. It was pretty cold out when I was running it in my car, but I still couldn't bring myself to roll the windows up. People probably wondered why I was driving around by myself with the windows down in 40 degree weather with the biggest smile on my face. About 2-3 gallons made it smell for 6 full tanks too.

I will say though, some 110 octane does wonders for cleaning out a carb

I dont think any race gas is leaded anymore. Just different additives that produce the same effects as lead once did.

I ran C16 in my car once and all it did was allow me to bump the timing a ton to somewhere around 22* IIRC lol

Unless they changed it, Turbo Blue is still leaded.
