Instead of the red RTV for the water neck/tstat housing.

IF so, would it be any better or worse, or would it matter.??

Im changing the gasket for the 3rd time now in 3 days, and since some of you have said that the chrome FMS water neck warps, Im putting back an OEM cast one..

Thanks
RC

RC, about your leak. Ive had a simlar issue, and its because of the crappy typhoon lower intake. If you line up the thermo housing on it, with the bolts in, i can see how the stock thermo housing overhangs the bottom of the intake a bit. That spot has leaked since ive had the intake, until this winter when i put the thermo stat housing on and let it dry for days.

BTW, i use black..

I just went outside and looked at my chrome neck since my motor is apart and connected it to the intake. I can see a small gap in between both
I have the same problem with it being warped and its at the bottom bolt that I said I had the problems with it being loose. The neck is warped right at that corner where the bootom hole is. It's just bent in that corner a small amount, WTF? I will try and have it resurfaced at a local shop and see what happens.

That's gonna be hard to do, since there is such little area between the out edge of the neck and the raised lip of the tstat area.

Load it up with a lot of RTV to fill in that gap and make sure it has time to dry once installed. Put the RTV on then immediatly stick it onto the intake and let it dry there.
