can intake stops rpm's

hello

the intake can make the engine not to reach hi rpm's because my engine revs fast up to 5600 rpm then it rev's slow and in third and fourth you dont feel good power i think i need air and i tried bumping up and down the timing and its the same. i have a 306 with the stock intake and TB, 30 pounders with 75mm maff, long tubes headders 2.5 pipes, 274HR cam.
what problem can i have!

I don't think you have a problem. Mustangs are torque monsters so from a dig they make great power. No so much in the top end though.

Agree with what was already said... The 5.0 really should'nt rev much past 5,500 rpm and make power unless you are cammed for high-revs with all the supporting mods....

The problem is you have a seriously mis-matched combo there.

I would run 24 pounders max with that cam. You should also step up to AFR-165s and a RPM II intake. You'll pick up 100 hp.

You also mention that you are using a stock intake (Non-ported lower) and Throttle Body. Both of these parts are effecting your High RPM performance.

i have lower ported big! a friend barrowed a 65mm TB im goin to trie it this weekend and see if the car runs bit better and if it runs better then i need air (intake and TB) and the heads are ported little big they have 158cc intake and 62 exhaust with 1.94, 1.55!
