I am swapping a buddies intake manifold on his '97 Saleen from the non-PI to the PI and I reran the heater hose got the PI manifold gaskets, cleaned everything and then had everything reinstalled and when the coolant was poored in it leaked. Well I pulled everything back off to see what happened and I couldn't see a thing wrong.

This is a brand new PI manifold so you would think everything would be flat but when I put a straight edge on it it rocked pretty bad and there was a difference of about 1mm in places on both sides. I then eyeballed it and there is a slight twist all the way down on both sides. So are these supposed to be milled before installation or did he get a freak job manifold? Can these even be milled? Need help! Thanks Guys!

did you RTV the water jackets? The PI gasket alone does not seal completely when installing PI intake onto NPI heads. Go over to Modular Depot and search for RTV on PI swap. A member did an extensive write up with pics of where you need to put the RTV.

Oh and is it a Ford intake, or aftermarket knock off? And they can be milled...livernois does it to theirs to fit under the stock hood with their adapter plate kit.

Really because I was told before that there isn't any RTV gasket required and I was still a little hesitant. Should have gone with my instincts. It appears to be a ford product. He got it off of eBay (parts supplier) but it came in the Factory ford box that you would get from the dealer. Alright I will take it and have it milled for him and also find that right up. Thanks that really helps me out.
