The guy building it for him wants to use the 5.1 pistons too. More power all around. I'm thinking it's not really worth it, even if it could be done. The cylinder walls would probably be paper thin after that.
it's my understanding that .030" is the max the bores can be opened up. to stay on the safe side, most only go .020" over on the 4.6L. you can go larger with sleeved blocks, i just don't know how much more.
0.30 over is the highest I would ever go. You can go to a .060 over but that is making your cylinder walls a little thin. Not something you want to do. I've never even heard of 0.73 over but if 0.60 isn't good then 0.73 is just dumb. If he plans on sitting on the side of the freeway and overheating everyday or WORSE tell him to go for it. Otherwise i'd stick around a 0.30 with a stroker kit. That will give you more than enough power.
