The next mod I have planned for the 5.0 is and intake. But im not excatly sure which one would suit me best. I'm kinda looking towards the trick flow streat heat. What I really want is the performer RPM II but i think thats way too much for my setup, and i dont want to lose mid and low end power. I do plan on getting heads and cam in the future but thats a ways away. My current mods are:

shorty headers, h-pipe, flows, 1.7 rockers, ignition, underdrive pulleys, 3g upgrade, timing 16*

so what do u guys think?
any feedback is much appreciated

Without knowing cam and heads its kind of ridiculous to pick an intake, I would either wait until you do everything or have Tmoss port your lower for a little extra now.

your setup's pretty mild to go for an intake IMHO. a cobra/explorer/gt40 would be a good match, or ported stock lower as mentioned....but i personally think you might want to go for heads first. more money but better returns.

what are your goals for the car?

I say Cobra... they seem to work with pretty much anything.

If your going to use stock E7, GT40, GT40P, GT40Y, Windsor Jr heads, then a ported stock lower or Cobra/Explorer style intake will work best. The ported lower is about $130 total and the Cobra/Explorer will run $250-300 + $15-20 shipping. The TF Street Heat flows like 245cfm and is a litle too big for best application. Performer would work well but they usually cost as much or more than the Cobra family used.

I went through the same thing. I was able to do everything at the same time. Cam XE270, AFR 165 heads, 70mmTB, 73mm MAF, 24# injectors, and the RPM2 intake. I would not have done the RPM2 without all the other mods. It flows way too much for stock. If the heads and cam are way down the road, you might think about porting the lower as said above, and getting a set of 1.7 roller rockers. The 1.7's can be used on new heads down the road and will give you a little more off the stock cam for now... Just a thought. There are a couple of ported lowers on Ebay for cheap.
