That's a beautiful car you got for $15 k

If you don't mind me asking, how many miles are on your car?

138k, which is high. Lower mileage Cobras are very expensive. This one was well taken care of and has always been a Washington state car.

Well thanks to this site and all you guys, I have a much better perspective.

The only thing I cared about was the subframe, connectors, strut Towers and oveall undercarriage of the car.

My plan was to have a car painted vibrant red and in the motor tore down and rebuilt the stock.

I just bought an original paint Cobra for 15k. Still has all the VIN tags, all original upholstery. They are out there, just have to be patient and vigilant. I know now why you want Vibrant Red, it’s an awesome color especially in the sun!

That's a good looking car.
I can hear it talking, I think it said "put a set of lowering springs on me asap".

Honestly, at this point if I buy a fox it will be an "investment" piece.

93 Cobra
Saleen
Clean, stock notch in desirable color and interior.

Buy it, keep it clean and stock and most likely never lose a dime in it.

Other than that....I'd go SN95. Better bang for the buck right now, and better stock performance.

Better handling and braking for sure on the sn95’s. Sure as hell don’t look as good IMO.

Subjective really. Since owning an 03 GT I have a soft spot for a clean new edge

My son has a 2004 GT. It’s a good car, gets outta its own way. The interior is falling apart because Ford didn’t know what the hell they were doing back then. Cheap plastic for sure. Never given us a problem, except the time the spark plug blew out of the head when we first bought it. That was scetchy, tapping the head for a helicoil. He’s got about 150k on it.

Yeah, they're hideous:

I often think that in our hobby, that people forget how good clean examples really look. Instead, we recall all the examples we've seen and most of them are ragged out by curb-side mechanics and resales.

I like the new edge better than the 94-98’s.

The thing about fox bodies is, as i get older, they stay the same age.

Im biased to fox bodies because to me they're the next collectable muscle car. They will never be considered old mustangs now. Not sure which other body style after 93 will hold the same status as the fox body?

As millenials age, they want to buy the cars they lusted after in HS. Right now it the fox cars.

I was in HS in 1998 and the car I wanted was a Chrome Yellow '98 Cobra convertible. I've already told my wife in s few years I might start to look for one and make a road trip to get it.
