Can you I.D. this water pump?

Hey guys, strange request...My buddy just called me and his customer's wanting a water pump. The thing is his customer has a classic mustang without the original motor and his customer has no idea what year engine is in it and he wants this specific pump. He had the guy send me a pic of it in hopes one of you can get the exact ID on it since the other two pumps the guy got didn't fit according to his customer. Here's the pic, thanks for the help.

Not for sure exactly what it is out of, but all the old SBF pumps are about the same. I would drag it down to the Parts store and start comparing it to pumps on Fords 85' and older. The most important thing is whether or not the car has a serpentine belt, or V-belts, though I suspect it's a V-belt setup. If you have the parts guy pull 3 pumps off the shelf, pretty good odds you're going to find your pump. I would start with the same make and model classic Mustang he has.

Thanks for the quick reply appreciate the help. My buddy works at pep boys and has already tried everything they had in stock to match up and nothing matched, he just called me cause he knew I was a member here so I could post the pic on here for him in hopes of someone pinpointing the pump. Not a huge deal but if anyone knows for sure what pump it is just from the pic that would be cool. I told him it'd be somewhat harder with no part # from the old one and just a pic but ya never know.

Looks like Stewart has a pump that looks exactly like that:

Something to keep in mind. A lot of pumps get replaced with newer models, and the old pump becomes obsolete. So if Ford made a pump from 67' to 69' and then updated the casting in 70' and the 70' pump meets the requirements of the 69' and older pump, then manufacturers stop offering the 69' and older pump. There's a good chance Pep Boys is using a more modern casting that replaces the older casting on those applications. Rebuilt water pumps have become less popular at parts stores due to the liability, so they have cut down the number of castings they offer. If you can come up with any number off that casting that will help. I used to cross casting numbers when I worked at Advance all the time.

Make sure the impeller design on the back matches incase it changed rotation or something.
