Can you patch the side wall of a tire?

I was gonna drive my friend to work today but my car had a flat. I found a little piece of metal in the tread which I know can be plugged. Then I found two super tiny holes in the sidewall from who knows what. I know those cant be plugged but can they be patched from the inside? The tires are relativly new and I dont want to buy new tires for these rims because I want to get some 18's soon. Are patches safe?

It can't be done, unfortunately. I know how you feel, I had one of my front tires blow out at 70mph only 1.5 months after I bought them. Needless to say it had more than a hole in it by the time I had stopped. I had to buy a new one (no road hazard warranty). I was pissed.

The tire is junk. Can't be fixed, even on a bet. (It could, but as soon as it is put to use, the sidewall will flex and shed the patch. Sorry.) I'll bet the two little holes are from the sidewall being run over while the tire was flat/low. When you get the tire off the rim, I would bet that there will be a sizeable handful of tire dust in there.
