anybody with bilstein shocks and struts or has seen one i was wondering if you can see the bright yellow shocks. and if so do you just spray paint them black or what.

I don't notice it at all on mine. I did not paint anything.

Depending on how big your rims/spokes are (mainly) and how big the brakes are, you should see the tubes if you're looking level

hard to see due to the camera, but if you use your imagination you can see where the strut would be visible.

Why would you desicrate them anyway? It's like painting the Ford Blue Oval, black

No you can't... not unless your nose is pressed to the wheel well.

I'm proud of my Bilsteins eventhough they don't match my car.

These are older pics but they are right after I lowered my car.

Bilsteins on OEM applications are yellow too, just look at alot of chevy trucks that have them. Yellow = teh win for shocks yo.

thanks for the info. im going to put them on myself and never have before. i got a couple of how to's off the internet and it seems pretty easy. do you guys have any tips. is there anything different to do with bilsteins. i notice there's nothing in the box to tell me which washers go where etc. actually the how to's are for springs which i'm changing too. but people say when doing the springs the shocks and struts are obvious. what do ya think? thanks

My ex-wife had them stock on her (Black 4x4 lifted) 2000 Chevy Sport Blazer. Only thing on the vehicle that was quality... Go figure.

Just remember, Bilsteins have internal bump stops.

I just did my shocks/springs this past weekend. I went with the Eibach Pro kit & the Tokico HP's (the bright blue ones). My shocks are certainly visible if you get eye-level with the wheels, and they look pretty cool, but I wouldn't buy shocks for the looks, it's all about the handling/ride. I was a little too cheap to get the bilsteins, but the Tokicos suit me just fine. One thing I know: you shouldn't paint the shock, wouldn't look right, and could effect the performance of it. The installation is pretty straight forward. You just need a couple of larger tools...7/8" & 15/16" I believe, and should be good to go!! Good luck.

Meaning if you put in C/C plates you don't need their strut bump stops.

i bought steeda springs with the one inch drop so im not putting in cc plates. so whats the deal with the bump stops do i use the factory ones or not. i thought the bilsteins have them already.

With 18" FR500s you can see a little bit of my red KYB AGXs in the rear, but the fronts are invisible.
