Can you use the Automatic shifter knob from the T-Bird?

I was wondering if you can get rid of that ugly airplane looking automatic shifter and swap it out for the refined automatic shifter knob from the latemodel Thunderbird?

I don't know if it'll fit on the 2005, but you can buy a nice manual clone shift knob for your automatic. I'm sure he'll have a 2005 model soon enough if it doesn't fit. Not sure if that is the feel you were going for, I haven't seen the t-bird shifters.

I actually have the T-handle for my '99 automatic from MGW and it looks a whole lot better than stock but MGW going to have a tough time with the '05 since it's so damn big and ugly. I also don't like their Auto gripper shift knob on the '99-'04 since it looks funny without the boot.

The late model Thunderbird has a beautiful shifter for it's automatic and i was wondering if anyone knew for sure if it would fit?
