'79-'93 doors are all the same shell. You might need to swap out your door's inner parts (regulators, locks, handles, etc) but that should only take a few hours.

"...it's hard to leave when you can't find the door!" Sorry I had to go there.

The major difference is the window trim at the door. The newer ones have plastic discs riveted to the doors to mount the trim to. It slides off the door once you remove the screw at the outside edge. You can remove the rivets, but then you will have to weld the holes closed. As for the internals, they are basically the same and interchangeable. If you have manual and want to install a power door, you can swap parts over, or even change to power, but that would require new door panels and some wiring. Power locks are no problem, just remove the lock actuator and wires and it is then manual locks!

Personally, I'd refer to www.latemodelrestoration.com , junkyard, ebay, or craigslist. Gives you a wide range to find everything you're looking for.

Good luck.

Use steel epoxy putty. It's as good/better as welding for that application. Go to Wal-mart, and they often have the JB-Weld stuff. That stuff RULES! But, you BETTER use gloves!

Once hard, the metal is at *least* as strong as a grade-3 bolt/nut.

WATERWELD Part No. 8277 - Kicks *SS!
Plug holes and make permanent repairs under water and in gas tanks -- while they're still leaking! Drinking water safe. Surfaces do not need to be clean and dry for application.

http://jbweld.net/products/water.php
http://jbweld.net/products/jbstik.php

Properties (psi)
Tensile Strength: 6,000 psi
Density: 15.8 lb/gal
Compression Strength: 12,000 psi
Shear Strength: 700 psi
Hardness: 65-75 psi
Resistant to: 300° F
Modulus of Elasticity: 6 x 105 psi

BTW: For bigger applications, go to Home Depot in the plumbing section. BEST stuff I know outside the JB-Weld waterweld. But, MUCH cheaper per ounce!

Good Luck. Yea, that steel epoxy putty stuff RULES!!

I've used the car-part.com a lot! A co-worker just bought some OEM Chrome rims for his Lexus for snow tires that he found listed on car-part.com. He got 4 rims for about the price of one new one.
