can't get alpine head unit to work w/mach 460

I am trying to install an alpine head unit on my sisters 99 mustang with the mach 460. We got the wiring kit, and a line modifier, but I can't seem to get any sound to the speakers. The wiring kit came with 2 addapters, 1 for the power wires/misc, and 1 for the speaker wires.
Do you have to do anything with the 6 wire connectors for the CD player?
I must be missing something really simple. I did the exact same installation on my dads 97 GT with a mach 460.

Some say 99+ mach460's cant have a different headunit. Just last friday I installed a cd player on my 98 GT with the 460. Hook up the amp remote wire (blue wires) together and the sound should fill the air I got pissed about it when i couldn't get it to work. Lemme know what you think. 2 stereo shops say I couldn't put a different cd player with the 460. I tell ya what, for 10 bucks I sure as hell could.

yeah, I was looking at some wiring diagrams tonight with my dad, and it looks like I forgot to hook up the remote amp wire. So the amps arn't getting power to produce any sound right now. That should be all I need to do .
