My stang threw a code of 112 on the key on engine off test..

I looked it up on this site and the description was: Intake Air Temperature circuit Low Input.

Is this a MASS air flow sensor dirty maybe??

Thanks,
Tom

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

No, that's the sensor on the inlet pipe just prior to the throttle body.

It reads the air charge temperature and the eec makes changes to fueling based on it. I would assume carb cleaner would be okay to use on it. Might just have to buy a new one.

It might not be plugged in (easy to forget and it kinda hides).

I would use Electronic contact cleaner on it. Index it upon reinstallation if desired.

Thanks for the reply guys...Much appreciated!

I take it that the IAC is this thing:

Looks pretty dusty may be the problem...

I'll keep ya updated.

Ima tard...

Wrong code...I thought I memorized it but my mind does not possess the force..LOL Anyway, it's code 122 which is:

Throttle Position Sensor circuit Low Input.

What causes this...dirty sensor?

It was sitting out for a while so it could get dirty..

Thanks guys,
Tom

Make sure the TPS is plugged in. Check the KOEO baseline for the TPS.

Yep Dumbo left it unpugged...LOL

It's plugged in and she runs better. Now I'm getting a check engine light on right about the time when she gets to operating temp. what's the procedure for the engine on code test? I have a OBD1 code reader without the manual...LOL

This kinda seems like I have a problem with an O2. Just seems about the time when they'd be up to temp.

The code reader might have a PDF manual available online. Worth a looksie.

KOER codes are retrived about the same as KOEO except that the car is started (and already at operating temp) first.

You might find the CEL is from an EGR code if the light is coming on as you get up to temp (the O2's are functional way before you reach operating temps).
