I haven't cleaned the K&N yet, I've had it on for 5,000 miles the most. And to clear things up a bit more, this only happens when the car is first started in first, not after I have been driving a while. I could pull out of the parking lot, it will bog. At a light I will stop, and it's fine. It's not after every stop. Did you recently clean your K&N? Could you have used too much oil on it and coated the MAF wires or temp sensor? If so, BINGO! The coated MAF wires would not see the increased air flow and fail to add fuel until you really get going.
If so, let me know, and I tell you how to clean them. Don't touch it unless you know what you are doing.
It's not a used car, I've had it since day one, I'll do the MAF last for now, fist thing I'll do is the fuel filter. The car has about 22K miles on it. Today when I left work, I backed out of my space, put it into first, then pushed the gas down half way, it had no power, then I left a 15 foot mark of rubber behind me. When I pulled out of the parking lot it had no problem. I usually let it sit for a minute or two and rev the engine, but it always does the same thing. Let's think about the quick, cheap fixes. You could replace the TPS for about $25. But, I would think you would get the problem all the time if the TPS was bad. But, it can't hurt and it's a cheap fix. Since you are insistent that it happens when the weather is warm, I am leaning towards an intake related issue such as the MAF. Most likely, the previous owner had the same problem. And, you probably don't have a stock MAF, do you laying around?
Try cleaning the MAF. But be VERY careful. One false move, and the MAF is toast. I don't want to be blamed for anything. But, I have cleaned mine and it worked just fine.
Pull out the MAF from the housing. Don't touch the wires! or set it down. Hold it in you hand to keep it safe. Pour some rubbing alcohol over the sensors. Wait for it to dry completely and put it back into place.
I think you will want to reset you computer by disconecting the battery especially if it is dirty. Wait about 20 minutes which will also ensure that all the alcohol has evaporated. Then start it up and see what happens. A Ford tech told me you can use a q-tip with rubbing alcohol and gently clean the MAF wires too, but you have to be real careful.
