I got a 97 GT Convertible... My paint on my front clear coat is eating off it looks... FORD ERR!!! But its getting a new paint job and black widow front and the 99 up replica with a black widow spoiler... I dont think a normal mustang cover will fit this... I was wondering maybe the 99 up saleen car cover should fit good??? I am going to be putting on a new convertible top so I want to protect it and the new paint... Thanks a lot!!!

Ha... When you think about that... Thats a great idea... I feel like an idiot... But I still need to know if a 99 up saleen cover would work best...

To be honest, I'm not sure. I don't see why a car cover meant for a hardtop wouldn't fit the convertible models as well. They still have about the same clearance as the hardtops do. If you know the measurements of your car, you can always cross reference and see what you can find. Just be sure to get one car cover that is "softer" but still water & dustproof for the surface of the car and then try to find a more durable "plastic or tarp" feeling one to throw over that. The plastic feeling ones tend to repel water and snow better.

This way, if "some" manages to leak through the first cover, you've always got another cover underneath to provide that extra protection. I do this on mind and it works great.

My car is also black.. So I trust you!!! I know how easy it is to get them little scratches that never seem to go away...

Speak of the devil I was just outside detailing my car. I'm having to use Meguiars number 2 fine cut cleaner to get the swirls out cause nothing else works. I swear, a black car is a lot of work.
