car crapped on the hwy

drain your gas tank and refuel. i know that cost a lot of money these days, but it's worth a shot if you cant find anything else wrong. do you know anyone who might haved put something in your tank?
that's exactly how it feels

yup, time to check the brand new distibutor & coil. still won't run & I'm poor for 2 more weeks :nonono:
Sorry to hear about your bad luck.. But i noticed you have MSD. If you can Bypass your MSD or take it out.. Sometimes When MSD goes bad that will happen .. just a thought

I had a race car 510 :) and with the MSD one day while racing it started jerking sputtering then died.. We spent DAYS!! thinking and checking everything but the SPARK..

RUle of thumbs is when a car dies first things to check or SPARK and FUEL.. those or the most critcal .
well, tried with the MAF unplugged. Still a sputtering attempt and then nothing, can anyone else help me narrow this down please? Could this be critical damage here w/out leaks or grinding metal or anything?!
DID EVERYBODY MISS THIS?

you said that it did the same exact thing with your maf on as it did off. there's your problem, trace the wire back to make sure it isn't split or anything... BTW: unless i missed something, it's not going to run well after a minute w/o the maf... it'll take a little time, but when the meter isn't reading right, it'll do all that crapola u described

You mentioned putting in a new dist. How long has it been running with the new dist. The dist might not have been tightened all the way and while you were driving, it started rotating. I had that happen to me, but I dont' think it got to the point of running like yours. Remove the spout plug and see if it cranks. This will prevent the computer from adjusting time. If it starts your going to have to adjust the dist until its running better.

I figured it would crank after disconnecting, and run for a minute then die

It wants to start whichs makes me think it's not the ICM. Nothing w/ the spout out either.
