yesterday i replaced the intake air temperature sensor and my coolant temerature sensor and my car stopped detonating. On the way home tonight i was showing my friend the difference and once i got to 4000rpm it started detonating again :bang: It was running so good about two hours ago so what happened? What else could be going wrong? Should i take the sensors back or what????

are you throwing codes? I changed the ACT sensor with one from AutoZone(wells) twice neither of them worked. So i went to ford, it sucks cause i spent an 25-30 bucks but it worked better.

ps DirtyD916 im from Pleasanton, just curious where in NorCal ya from

not sure about the codes. They tried to read it with an OBD II and they were acting like i wasnt speaking english when i asked if they had an OBD I i could use. They just wanted to sell me one. I'm going to take the sensor back and get a new one. Is there anywhere else I could get the sensor but different brand not OEM from ford?

what temps were you running with your buddy vs when it did not ping? how about ambient temps? you SN guys seem to have more issues than we do with the detonation probs.
gonna have to back timing off. :)

my car likes to run lean. When i got my LT's on i had to wait a week or so for the extenstions for my o2's to come in so no o2's were used that entire time. Could that have messed up the computer some how? Also is there anyway I can reset the computer?

94-95 cars have a built in ping problem. Many Stangers have resorted to custom chips and even replacing the existing computer with a 89-93 A9L computer to fix the problems that are a part of the computer's firmware program.

Disconnect the negitive battery lead for 20 minutes or so. That erases the keep alive memory and all setiings.
