Hey guys my car will start up and idle for 1 to 15 mins then when it wants to it will die. No warning, studdering, anything. Fuel pump is new, newer distributer, and I checked with a noid light to make sure the injectors are ok. What in the heck could be causing this??? It seems to stall faster as the car gets warm. Thanks for the help.

Did you test for spark and injector pulsing after the car has crapped out?

Any codes?

Good luck.

After it dies you can fire it back up. But after it gets warm it will probably only run for a min. Where if I wait till tomorrow to start it again then it will run for about 5 mins before dieing.

Thats what I thought but I got a distributer with 5,000 on it and put it in but the problem is not fixed. I wonder if I have another bad one.

There's no need to guess. Do the above testing (it takes less than 5 minutes) and you will know.

It could also be a bad TFI module or even a coil or fuel pump. Any extra testing will stem from the results of the initial testing.

It's cheaper to diagnose than toss parts.

Good luck.

Ya I am leaning towards that the PIP was bad in the new distributor I put in. Its not the fuel pump because I put in a new 255 last fall and I have swaped out the TFI and coil with others that I have.
