Car jerking?

I bought a 92 notch 4cyl lastnight and it is jerking when you give it any kind of throttle? But easy throttle and idol it's fine? The check engine light is on so do you think it is the o2 sencer? Or the fuel filter? It has 100,000 miles. I havent had much time to check it out yet but any help would be great. It goes good but when you give it a lot of gas is when it does it. Do you think one of the o2 sencers from my 95 gt will work to see if that is it? Or is there a way to test it? peace

Tune it up, plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, etc. If that doesn't fix it then shoot it.

sounds like an ignition miss under load. check the plugs wires (most likly) and the cap and rotor

actually thats how excited i am over this thing ! Ive always wanteda fox, got it for a preaty good deal, it's grey with red inter. with 108,000 on it with a t-5 . The body is perfectly stright and has a very small (like door ding small) dent in the front driver fender. I went tonight and put some gas in iut and i think thats all it is cause it seems to be runninn better and the guy said it sat for a month or so so maybe thats all it was? I have a set of bosh + 4 plugs i got that are brand new wheni got my rotors and from the book they are interchangeble from the 95's! anyways thanks and any other help would be nice. BTW rootus what are we gonna do about that tube? You could mail it to me via USPS and it would prob. only cost you/me like $5.00 if even that? Lets see whats on each others schedule for this weekend maybe a S/B meet?. Got any #24 injectors? peace

Your right i did commit on the last S/B thing providing it wasent raining! And well it was raining here in vanc. Thanks for the compliment on the fox and yes i beleive it is porno red thqt makes 2 notch foxes with porno red int. i have now. peace

Just to give a little update on the notch: i did the plugs, wires, fuel and air filter and oil filter and oil lastnight and man what a diffrence! Out of the 8 plugs it was probibaly only firing on 3 of them. Almost all the wires were junk and there was a couple 3 that werent even connected to a plug they were burnt in 1/2 All the plugs were shot, so we did all this fired it up and man purrrrrrrrrrrs like a cat! The thing actually has some decent power for a 4 cyl! But the check engine light is still on? I didnt use the bosh + 4 plugs i had from the 95 cause they wouldnt go in? Thought it was kinda weird cause the manuals said they enterchange. So i go to wal mart cause everything else was closed and got some 745 autolight plugs. Now these plugs are the same for the 95 and this but while i was there i checked the bosch in the book and they are diffrent on the 95 and the notch. Oh well i used the bosch platnuims many years ago and wasent at all impressed with them. Any ways just figured i let ya know the reason for it jerking. peace

We use Autolite 764 for the N/A 2.3L
IMO the Bosch are a waste of time and money.

I agree with you 100% on the bosch plugs. As for the autolites that may have been what i got cant remember it was 1 this morning wheni was doing them? peace
