Friday my car is driving fine. or at least as good as can be expected. well I park it friday night, and don't go nowhere for saturday and sunday. Get bac in on Monday and I notice it feels a little weak. While in traffic on my way to class she starts knocking but not bad. On the way back home I put some 91 octane in to try to help it. It got a little better but then got worse a lot quicker on the way home it starts knock really hard and just seized up and completly died. Now when I try to start it, it's knocking so hard it sounds like a diesel truck and won't stay running without me on the gas. What happened? I'm not sure what the problem is. fuel, timing what do you guys think??? HELP

Sounds like your motor is gone. You said you put 91 in it, was it a engine knock, or detonation? You way you described its not detonation, but you motor knocking. Did you check your oil?

same thing

I saw the post about you "knocking". Did you ever figure it out? My 92 did the SAME thing last week except mine only actually only "knocked" right before it died & when I crank it. It will crank if you stay deep in the gas pedal but u let off the gas....knock...dead! While i was driving home it started ticking like a baseball card in a bicycle wheel, not loud but noticable. I thought it was the heater fan at first. I have no idea what is wrong! There is no oil/water mixing, no smoke, no oil dripping, nothing. Timing is set, my oil presure/level is fine, pump is fine, good gas, new coils, plugs wires, DIS module, plugs, o2 sensor, no check engine light.......I guess I will tear into the motor this weekend but something tells me it's something not as serious as it appears I just gotta figure out what.

Im open to any guesses or suggestions! knock sensor screwing with the timing maybe? Follow arm? valve? H E L P

I had a knocking sound a while back and thought it was my motor, it ended up being one of the catalytic converters on my car.I guess the insides must have came loose or something. Anyways i changed the H Pipe and the knock was gone.

Your problem sounds a lil more serious though.

Maybe its a timing issue.

It was already mentioned above, but I would make sure your catalytic converter isn't broken or plugged. Try unbolting your exhaust and see if it will start. Or try removing the O2 sensor and see if it makes a difference. A plugged cat will definately cause a loss in power, and when it is plugged completely it can prevent the car from starting as well. Good luck
