All,

I bought my stang used and don't have a good grasp of its maintanence history, it runs well for the most part....poopie issues here and there..so I am starting a list of tune-up items. so far,

Spark Plugs, maybe wires after I test them.
Fuel Filter - done
Motor and - Tranny Mounts in process
Check the rear diff lubricant
Tranny fluid - ok
Check distributor cap and timing.
Coolant flush - done

So I know I am missing some key stuff....any ideas????

thanks

www.downsford.com sells a kit (good luck finding it)...where it is a complete tuneup kit with plugs/9mm wires/fuel filter/rotor/etc...for like $80 bucks...

But anyways...

I would replace the cap, rotor, definetly the wires (cheap), plugs, pcv valve and screen, and it never hurts to replace those "bad looking" hoses here and there...

Change your oil and air filter...

Clean your mass air flow sensor, throttle body (they make special cleaner for both at your local auto-parts store), and check the timing as you said (might want to bump it up a little if it is stock to around 13* or so but you'll need to run a higher octane like 93...and also check your TPS sensor...

if you have the factory glovebox manual (owners manual) or a repair manual, it/they should list the intervals of what to replace. i might get all the fluids, and other smaller stuff mentioned in those lists (serp belt, coolant, t-stat, etc. im omitting the stuff already mentioned).

good luck.

If anything on your front end has been changed out like ball joints or tie rod ends they probably have grease fittings. It wouldn't hurt to grease them. (The original factory parts are normally sealed and can't be greased).
