Car not running after Distributor swap

The bearings on my distributor went out so I replaced it last night. I was very carefull to mark the exact location of the rotor and distributor. Now the car is running like crap, backfiring and no power. I've got a brand new cap, rotor and plug wires. They're all on the correct cylinder and firing order. I checked the wires with a spray bottle and they're not arcing at all to the block. What am I missing here?

Sounds like it is out of time, bring the motor back to TDC and re-install the distributer

here's what I did...

Mark balancer wherever you want to set timing, loosen hold down bolt, pull spout, start car, move distributer around a little where it sounds good, check w/ timing light and adjust as necessary, shut car off, put spout back in, tighten hold down bolt...should be good to go.
