No, I worked at Damerow for a couple years and then went to Suburban. Both great dealerships, but nothing like working at a speed shop:). Have Matt get Kieth to do it for ya. I believe he had a NGS, ( I doo too, but mine is broke:( )he may be able to do it on the side, never know. Save you a tow to the dealer if it pans out.

On a side note, Keith owns my first Mustang, a white 91 hatch.

cool... not to get off subject, but how did you go about getting a job at a speed shop? I was planning on taking the for asset program at mt hood, but that halted when I was hires at les schwab... It's a good job, but I'm not happy... I'm happy when I'm making a car go faster :D

Well, I went to school with the owner since 2nd grade.....that helped:) The ASSET program is nice, and VERY cheap to go thru. You could stay working while you go thru it ( I worked 2 jobs, and was going to school all at the same time, 2 years) and the Financial aid is awesome if you want it. Some aid was unused during my 2 years, everyone that wanted it got it. At the least it is good training, and you also work at a dealer, so you get a hands-on too. You will find out soon if it something you will like. You also end up with an Associates Degree, nice to have as well. Talk to the Service manager at a few dealers, maybe start w/ Gresham and tell them you want to go thru Asset. Thats how I got started at Damerow, as a lube tech going to school.

yea... I dunno.. I worked for a shop as an aprentice for about 6 months and couldnt take it... something about fixing cars that shouldnt have been on the road when they came in, and still shouldnt be on the road after being fixed just didnt sit well with me. :( whatever I do I need to find something I"m happy doing and something where I dont have to kiss my bosses ass just to keep my job. and make enough to support my 2 kids err cars I mean

yep IRS is stock and I am not planning on going with dr's or et's

my problem was the fact that i was going so slow through the trap... do you guys think it's normal?

i'll definately get a tune soon and i will postpone the blower until everything is sorted out

Your trap speeds are affected by your launch. Even more so on the later model overhead cam cars.

um, I think that your computer along with speed sensor are messing up your fuel/timing maps.
that's what i thought as well!

but everyone else that has done the swap said it shouldn't matter too much

also warbird suggested the cams are different between the auto and the stick... that is out of character for ford... making a cam special for the auto

they said shouldn't or don't, biig diff.
for example...

It shouldn't matter too much
vs.
It don't matter too much
if they said don't matter too much, then they probably think that avery ohc engine is the same and they drive a pickup with a 350 in it.

Tarch, have you tried Brian Holsten @ U Ford? They have slowly been cracking down on him for non stock work (they're rates went up to $100/hr) for non-stock, but he is the only Ford Tech that has worked on my car and the only one that could figure out the driveability issues on my fathers Kenny Blown blown and built 97 Cobra. Brian also moonlights at Brads.

I would give Brian a try, he might not be able to help as your issue seems pretty complicated and he is trying to stay out of trouble. But he is a great tech and is very knowledgable.

Yea, I'd only anticipate the flywheel being different on an GT with an auto, although the Mach 1 has have different crank and internals from the 5spd vs auto. The auto can't rev nearly as high because of that.

Different cams? I don't think so.
