Well I took my 93 Notch to a local Mustang Meet yesterday.

Drove for about an hour with the AC on in light traffic. Its about 75-80* out.

I get to the Mustang Meet and my AutoMeter Temp Guage reads 235-240*

I just put a new radiator in it a few months ago. No leaks in the system and the water pump is fairly new.

Looking to go to an electric fan setup. But not a JY setup.
Here's what I was looking to do.

1. 160* TStat
2. Black Magic Xtreme Fan (3300cfm)
3. PA 130Amp Alternator

Comes out to just over $400

Ive heard a thousand mixed reviews on the Black Magic fans...

run a damn tauros fan.. cheapest hot roddiest part there is.. the most expensive part was the hayding controler to keep it going for me lol
agreed black magic is lil more then a name that people like to say lol,if you dont mind wasting money get the black magic,if you would like to get a fan of the same quality for hella less money then search the forums theres a number of recomendations for fans that flow great u can find in your local boneyard.

You don't mess with the shroud on the Taurus fan. That's the Mark VIII fan.

The mech. fan easily moves more CFM than an electric at speed, but at idle is where the electric fans really kick butt. You also may get a small MPG increase on the highway, where a fan isn't needed.

Just get the Delta Current Control box and a Taurus fan, and you'll be set.. don't bother with that Hayden/Imperial junk.

The DCC + a junkyard or eBay Taurus fan together cost less than the Black Magic fan.

I run a pretty stout mechanical set up on the fox (metal blade, HD clutch, etc).

On the 94, I am really considering one of Mr. Baskin's controllers. He also has a dealie for that application that is 1/3 the price that lowers the temp thresholds for the fan, but it isnt variable. Another tempting route for me.

That said, I have read the site a good bit and read lots of threads, but cant offer first-hand experience with said controller. The different models are rated for the draw of the fan (so it seems to me). Best bet for sure is to ask Mr Baskin his opinion. I know that will be my first step when I go to order. :nice:

I guess Mr. Baskin owns DCC?
:nice: Yep.

Good luck with the J/Y hunt. People report finding the 3.8L fans on ebay for cheap. If it makes you feel better, J/Y's here think their stuff is gold plated too.
